NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who is wanted for slashing a subway rider on the neck and face while trying to steal his headphones on a subway platform in the Bronx, according to investigators.
It happened Friday just after 2:30 p.m. on the southbound platform of the East Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue No. 4 train station.
1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan reports
The suspect walked up to a man and took his headphones from his bag, police said. When the victim tried to get his headphones back, police said the suspect slashed him with a sharp object.
The suspect then took off on a northbound No. 4 train.
The victim was taken to St. Barnabus hospital and released.
The incident was caught on cell phone video by other riders waiting on the subway platform.

The headphones at the center of the attack, said to be "Beats By Dr. Dre," have become an increasingly attractive target, according to police.
Most thefts of the pricey headphones, which cost between $300 and $500, are occurring in upper Manhattan and north Brooklyn, police said.
"Can't hear with them on, that's the whole thing," one man said. "With the headphones on, it kind of covers up what's going on in the background so they don't pay attention."
"I think it's causing a lot of problems," said another woman. "My son is about to attend middle school and it's something he wants for his graduation and I'm not going to purchase it because it makes it seem like I'm just setting him up to get robbed."
But Beats owners say the thefts won't deter them from wearing their headphones.
"I put the headphones through my jacket," said one man.
