NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are investigating after a resident of a Queens nursing home made a dramatic escape.

The 68-year-old man was last seen around 2:30 a.m. Saturday inside the Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Jackson Heights.

It was reported to police that the man used a makeshift rope, possibly out of plastic bags tied together, to lower himself from a fourth floor window.

According to police, the man ran off in an unknown direction and is still at large.
