Flatbush Zombie at Fatty Cue Brooklyn
91 S. 6th St.
Brooklyn, NY 11249
Recently re-opened following a year-long makeover, Fatty Cue in Williamsburg also features a revamped cocktail menu created by Mayahuel's Phil Ward. For a knockout tiki tipple to pair with spicy dishes such as green chili lamb bao, try the Flatbush Zombie (light rum, dark rum, 151 proof rum, cinnamon, grapefruit juice, lime juice and mole bitters). While the tropical flavors will send you into a blissful state, be careful not to overindulge with this strong drink or you will feel like the walking dead the next morning.
Imperial Buck at Lantern's Keep
49 W. 44th St.
New York, NY 10036
One of Midtown Manhattan's best hidden watering holes, Lantern's Keep is an intimate retreat from the hustle of the Theater District. Sip your staycation away with the Imperial Buck, a twist on the Dark 'n' Stormy featuring Blackstrap Rum, ginger beer, lime, pineapple juice and club soda. Served in a tall glass over ice, the rich molasses rum and spicy ginger beer are softened by the sweet pineapple juice for a very easygoing sipper.
Celery Gimlet at Saxon + Parole
New York, NY 10012
One of the most popular cocktails at Saxon + Parole has a surprising secret ingredient: Chardonnay vinegar. Also made with Spring 44 Gin, Green Chartreuse, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, lime juice, celery juice and verjus, Naren Young's Celery Gimlet is an ideal aperitif that tingles the tastebuds. Sip this one on the restaurant's terrace for full seasonal effect.
Intercontinental at Greenwich Project
47 W. 8th St.
New York, NY 10011
Opened earlier this month by the team behind Mulberry Project, Greenwich Project is offering a strong cocktail program and upscale dining. For a savory take on seasonal flavors, try the Intercontinental (Campari, Bols Genever, Combier Kümmel, demarara syrup, housemade celery bitters and Angostura bitters).
Spanish Crown at Maison Premiere
298 Bedford Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11211
Tucked away off Williamsburg's Bedford Avenue, Maison Premiere's back patio is the ideal spot for warm-weather sipping and oyster slurping. While Maxwell Britten's cocktail menu is full of gems, new drinks for spring include a selection of juleps, such as the Spanish Crown (lemongrass mezcal, sherry, Suze, Creme Yvette, blueberry and lemon).
