NYC's 5 Best Bars With Weekend Happy Hours

During the week, New York City is host to every happy hour imaginable, from oyster happy hours to outdoor happy hours to bars with free food deals. But most NYC bars stop their deals once the workweek ends and the weekend begins. Here are five bars that continue offering drink and food specials through the weekend. By Adrienne Smith.

Start your Saturday night off right at this sleek, Asian-inspired cocktail bar in the Lower East Side. Happy hour lasts from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., with offerings like $6 lychee martinis, sangrias, Vietnamese Bloody Marys (vodka with tomato, ginger, coriander, horseradish, limes and chili paste) and basic cocktails. Verlaine is best known for its lychee martini, a potent mix of vodka, the sweet Asian fruit lychee, and a splash of pineapple. But beware, this Rivington Street hotspot gets crowded as the night progresses.

Full Circle Bar: For A Dive Bar
318 Grand St
Brooklyn, NY 11211
(347) 725-4588

Ever heard of Brewskee-Ball? Head to this Williamsburg dive to watch – or play in – the first-ever competitive Skee-Ball league. If Skee-Ball isn't your thing, Full Circle Bar is still well worth a weekend visit. The bar is easy on the wallet, with Saturday and Sunday happy hour from 2 to 9 p.m. Choose between $1-discounted draft beers, a $3 brewmosa (think mimosas with beer) and a $5 Genessee tall boy with a hot dog or soft pretzel. If you're feeling particularly courageous, or a recent Skee-Ball win has your adrenaline spiked, try the Tabasco and tequila shot for $3.

This charm of a French-style wine bar is tucked into the heart of the West Village. Amelie offers more than 300 bottles of wine from around the world, a healthy chunk of which are available by the glass. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays; you can order $6 glasses of wine or $10 wine flights. Amelie's three-wine flights can be customized yourself or based off your server's recommendations. Two rotating appetizers, like pistachio-crusted goat cheese with honey and toasts, also appear on the happy hour menu for $6.

Pony Bar: For Craft Beer
637 10th Ave
New York, NY 10036
(212) 586-2707

Both the Hell's Kitchen and Upper East Side locations of Pony Bar are serious about their craft beer. Twenty taps serve a rotating variety of domestic craft brews, all of which hover around $5. Happy hour is offered daily, including Saturday and Sunday, between 4:20 and 5:20 p.m. All beers are included in the happy hour for $1 off the original price, so you can sip a Dogfish Head Festina Peche or Adirondack Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout for a buck less. If you discover a new favorite draft, Pony Bar offers growlers to take home. Check the Pony Bar's website for daily updates on draft offerings.
