Doorbell video shows NJ Transit bus crashing into Englewood home, 2 parked cars

An NJ Transit bus veered off the road and crashed into a home early Thursday morning in Englewood.

The bus on the 166 line had just left the Oradell Garage at 5:45 a.m. and was heading to Van Nostrand Avenue and Grand Avenue to start its route, transportation officials said.

It slammed into the home near Route 4 near Grand Avenue, along with two parked cars.

No customers were on the bus, and the house and cars were unoccupied.

Fire officials said the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the bus hitting the home. The driver was taken to the hospital. Police said there were no injuries to report.

Video from Chopper 2 showed the bus across the front lawn.

Ring camera video also captured the chaos, as neighbors said it was unsettling to watch.

"I was grateful for sure because it wasn't our house, but it was definitely very scary," one resident said. "I was scared for the bus driver because I didn't know and for the passengers. I didn't know if there were passengers on board."
