NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The country's biggest flagmaker, Annin Flagmakers in Verona, N.J., has taken on one of its biggest jobs ever.
With the gentle touch of surgeons, four seamstresses are delicately repairing a tattered American flag and trimming the frayed edges, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported Wednesday.

Every flag is a symbol, but Annin Vice President Bob Caggiano told WCBS 880 this one is special.
"I think this symbolizes Americans' rebound or birth from 9/11," said Caggiano.
The flag is currently patched with flags from other tragedies, but it will eventually be restored to its original glory.
Italian immigrant Franca Tanelli is proud to be one of the seamstresses repairing the flag.
"It's the most beautiful flag in the world," Tinelli said.
