Nets' Williams Misses Practice, Hampered By Sore Hands
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — After spending all of one day in his new apartment, Nets point guard Deron Williams embarked on a trans-Atlantic trip to play a couple of home games in Britain.
And he's feeling the ill effects of it.
Williams, who was traded from the Utah Jazz last week, said in a conference call, "I haven't had any time to just sit down somewhere and relax."
He won't likely get any until after the Nets play the Toronto Raptors on Friday and Saturday in the first regular-season NBA games to be played in Europe.
The Nets' star acquisition, who has been slowed by a bruised left hand and sore right wrist, didn't practice Wednesday and doesn't know whether he'll be able to hit the court against the Raptors.
"I don't know yet,'' Williams said. "I don't have either hand, so it's tough.''
Williams said that he needs "more than a couple games" to recover from his injuries.
"I need like, three weeks,'' he said.
