Police: Man Seen Walking Naked In Brooklyn Is Also Suspected In Rape Attempt

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was caught on video walking down the street completely naked in Flatlands, Brooklyn this past summer and the same man is suspected in a rape attempt, police said Friday.

Around 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, the man was seen walking naked down the sidewalk on East 52nd Street between avenues I and J in Brooklyn, police said.

Police believe the same man also attacked a woman near East 55th Street and Avenue J around 11:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. In that incident, a man who was completely naked approached a woman from behind, grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground, and forcibly touched her, police said.

The man is believed to be between 25 and 30 or 35 years old and about 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, police said.

Police have released a surveillance video in the first incident and a sketch in the second.
