NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- News outlets across the country have been abuzz this week since news broke of Patricia Krentcil, the N.J. mother accused of bringing her 6-year-old daughter with her into a tanning booth.
The pictures of the mother, with her over-the-top faux glow, have sparked quite the reaction. The comments poured in to CBSNewYork via Facebook:
"No offense to the normal people of New Jersey," wrote Koreen Elzabeth Golder-Martin. "But seriously, is it hard to locate mirrors in your state?"

"Stick a fork in her, she's done," said Pamela Card.
"Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode with Kramer getting the same results," wrote Mark Rottenstein.

"I wonder what she sees when she looks in the mirror," wrote Linda Perez-Murphy. "Surely it's not her actual reflection. She looks like a very old Oompa Loompa."
Meanwhile, on our website, articles on the controversy were met by jokesters, as well.
"Isn't that Magda from 'There's Something About Mary'?" asked a reader named Liz.
"Snooki has nothing on this Nut...ley," wrote a site commenter who did not leave a name.
Another anonymous reader asked a question many were probably wondering: "Was I just punked?"
Not surprisingly, the CBSNewYork Twitter was blowing up with reader comments ranging from disbelief to the kind of insults we can't share here.
"IS THIS REAL LIFE!?" tweeted Emily Prevost.
Others stuck to sarcasm.
"But it looks so natural!," tweeted Michaell Grell.
Krentcil added more fuel to the fire Thursday when she made a comment to a reporter that she's the victim of jealousy.
"There's somebody out there...that doesn't like me because they're jealous, they're fat and they're ugly."
So, who's jealous?
"I think it is Sam Champion... HE can't touch this tan," wrote Gregory Santollo on Facebook.
"Wouldn't be surprised if the prosecution ROASTED her alive on the stand..." added Aaron Handy III.
