FREEHOLD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A heroin ring has been busted and 14 people are under arrest following an eight-month investigation, according to Monmouth County officials.
Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said members of the ring sold heroin almost daily in Monmouth and Middlesex counties, NJ.com reported.
In the sting called "Operation Family Tides," authorities recovered a whopping 8,100 bags of heroin packaged for sale as well as 4 ounces of raw heroin, 5 ounces of cocaine and three cars that were allegedly used to distribute the drugs.
Several of those implicated in the drug ring were members of the same family, according to officials.
