Runs, Runs And More Runs: 8 Times The Mets Reached Double Digits In '15

The Mets have recorded 49 runs in their past four games -- an average of 12.25 runs per game. They have tied a franchise record set in 1985 by recording 14 runs or more five times this season.

This is a team that, not too long ago, couldn't hit sand if it fell off a camel. Now, the Amazin's have become a force to be reckoned with in the batter's box. They've reached double digits eight times this year.

In case you don't recall, here's what happened in each of those games:

1. June 14 – NYM 10, ATL 8

The Mets launch four home runs to offset a poor outing from Dillon Gee and beat the Braves.

2. August 13 – NYM 12, COL 3

Travis d'Arnaud is the only Met not to get a hit and score in the game. Curtis Granderson, Juan Lagares and Kelly Johnson all go deep in the rout, producing a Coors Field-esque final score at pitcher's delight Citi Field.

3. August 3 – NYM 12, MIA 1

Michael Conforto hits his first big league homer and the Mets pummel the Marlins to take over first place in the NL East.

4. August 21 – NYM 14, COL 9

Yoenis Cespedes records a hat trick, sending three baseballs over the outfield wall at Coors Field. He finishes his day with five hits and seven RBIs.

5. August 22 – NYM 14, COL 9

Next day, same result. The Metropolitans explode for eight runs in the third inning and every starter gets a hit -- including pitcher Jon Niese, who contributes to his own cause with a two-run single.

6. May 16 – NYM 14, MIL 1

In the midst of a five-game losing streak, the Mets snap out of their funk with a 14-run performance. The game essentially ends after the Mets put 10 runs on the board in the fourth inning -- highlighted by soon-to-be folk hero Wilmer Flores' grand slam.

7. July 25 – NYM 15, LAD 2

Conforto's second MLB game goes extremely well, as he finishes the day 4-for-4 at the plate. Lucas Duda hits a pair of homers and the Mets put 21 hits on the board.

8. August 24 – NYM 16, PHI 7

The Mets set a franchise record with eight home runs in the ballgame, and David Wright sends one over the fence in his very first at-bat since returning from his battle with spinal stenosis.
