Nadirah McKenith Sidelined With Right Knee Injury

NEW YORK (AP) — St. John's will be without starting point guard Nadirah McKenith indefinitely as she recovers from a sprained right knee.

The junior injured her knee in the final few minutes of the Red Storm's loss to No. 1 Baylor in the Maggie Dixon Classic last Sunday.

McKenith was the Red Storm's leading scorer, averaging 13.4 points. She had nine points and seven assists against the Lady Bears before getting hurt.

The Red Storm (5-5) did receive some good news with the return of forward Da'Shena Stevens. She had been sidelined for the first 10 games while rehabbing an offseason injury to her left knee. Stevens was expected to play Saturday against Prairie View A&M when St. John's hosts its annual Holiday Classic.
