Mass. Man Killed In Tappan Zee Bridge Crash
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A Massachussetts man was killed Monday afternoon after stopping on the Tappan Zee Bridge to check on a trailer he was hauling.
Police say the 53-year-old man pulled over and got out of his car around 1 p.m. on the Westchester-bound side of the span to fix the trailer which had apparently detached from his 2007 Kia Sorento.
The trailer was then hit from behind and struck the man, pinning him between the trailer and the bridge barrier wall, police said.
The man was rushed to Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
