LIRR Service Restored Between Jamaica, Atlantic Terminal Stations
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Service on the Long Island Rail Road between Jamaica, Queens and Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn has been restored after being suspended in both directions due to a switch failure.
New York City Transit cross-honored tickets at the affected stations Friday morning.
It's the latest in a series of recent equipment failures that has snarled the morning commute for many. Back in May, a 1,400-foot section of track was damaged inside the East River tunnel following a derailment of an Amtrak train.
