Suspicious Item In Bag At JFK Turns Out To Be Art Project

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Transportation Security Administration found an item that was feared to be a bomb in a bag at John F. Kennedy International Airport this week, but it turned out just to be an art project.

The item involved three green plastic parcels wrapped in stainless steel wire, which in turn was buried in what appeared to be clay or concrete in a tin can.

The passenger that put it into the checked bag told authorities the item was an art piece, and ultimately, authorities confirmed it was harmless.

The passenger was allowed to continue on a trip with the item.
