Jeremy Maclin On Giants' Antrel Rolle: Trash-Talkers 'Either Insecure Or Scared'
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants-Eagles is just days away.
That can only mean one thing: let the trash talking begin.
Antrel Rolle got things started with WFAN's Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday. The Giants' outspoken safety said he wants Eagles quarterback Michael Vick to make a full recovery from a concussion suffered on Sunday in time for Week 3.
"I want the best of the best. He is the best," Rolle said. "I hope Michael Vick plays, because at the end of the day I don't want any excuses, you know, when we go down to Philly and put it to them the way we will."
It looks like Rolle and the Giants might get their wish. Vick participated in a team walkthrough on Wednesday. But still, Rolle's interview rubbed Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin the wrong way.
"A lot of times when people talk, they're either insecure or scared," Maclin answered when asked about Rolle. "You guys choose. I don't know what he's trying to do but he's not going to intimidate, not going to scare nobody in this locker room. He's talking. That says something."

The Giants have lost six straight to the Eagles, including last year's December debacle that ended with DeSean Jackson's game-winning punt return for a touchdown in the final seconds.
"We understand that we have to go out there and play the game," said Maclin. "On the other hand, they have no business talking because they haven't done anything the last six times."
When asked about Jackson, Rolle said he'd be able to handle the speedy receiver himself.
"You know, I'm no stranger to the cornerback position," Rolle told Benigno and Roberts. "I have handled DeSean Jackson one-on-one before, and I don't see why I can't handle him again."
Jackson heard what Rolle had to say, but he doesn't "get into things like that."
"It adds a little fuel to the fire," said Jackson. "But you've still got to go out and perform and play."
