Fire Razes Beloved Caldwell Diner
CALDWELL, N.J. (CBS 2) -- An early-morning fire guts a well-known diner in northern New Jersey.
The blaze went up in the Caldwell Diner Saturday morning. Firefighters said flames burned through the roof of the building before they managed to get it under control.
"It was kind of hard due to the, in the kitchen there was a lot of duct work, a lot of tin that we had to pull down," said Lt. Gerard Grenci of the Caldwell Fire Department.
"It's going to be missed. They were judged the best pancakes in New Jersey and so I'm sure the owner is going to rebuild," one resident said.
No one was injured and the cause was under investigation.
