12/6 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon, folks! After our cold start this morning, temps are warming up nicely across the region. Highs will be in the low and mid 50s across the region with plenty of sunshine. A superb Sunday for sure! If you're headed to the Meadowlands for the Jets-Giants game, the weather will be perfect ... 54 degrees at kickoff.

Clear and mild for the start of Chanukah tonight with temps in the low 50s into this evening. We won't get as cold overnight, with lows in the 30s for most (still a few upper 20s far N&W) and 42 in the city.

Another nice day to start off the work week tomorrow, with mostly sunny skies and temps in the low 50s. Some more clouds will move in later in the day as a low pressure system starts its move offshore. This will pass to our east overnight and into early Tuesday, keeping the rain off the coast. Can't rule out a few sprinkles or showers along the coast and eastern Long Island, but most will stay dry. Cooler temps, but seasonable on Tuesday with highs in the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies.

Will it be even warmer next weekend? Definitely a possibility, so be sure to check back in soon for the latest. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
