Dead Deer Mysteriously Dumped Along N.J. Road
MONTVILLE, N.J. (AP) -- Officials are trying to find the person who is dumping deer carcasses along a roadway in northern New Jersey.
The state Transportation Department says it's been happening along Route 287 in Montville and Pequannock for six months.
Bones litter an area near the exit ramp.
Montville resident Dennis DiLeo told The Daily Record of Parsippany he has called authorities twice. He said the smell is terrible.
The DOT says its crews are not dumping the deer.
The agency has notified the State Police.
