Parts Of Cross Island Parkway To Close Sunday For LIRR Work Near UBS Arena
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Cross Island Parkway will be closed near UBS Arena during parts of the day Sunday as crews work on the Long Island Rail Road.
The MTA will be securing a new station in Elmont before the first Islanders game at the new arena next month.
Eastbound train service from the station starts on Nov. 20 for the team's first home game.
Track work for westbound trains will be completed by the end of next year.
