Fire Rips Through Historic Building In Clinton, N.J.

CLINTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- An extra-alarm fire ripped through an old music hall building in Clinton, New Jersey Sunday.

Clinton firefighters were dispatched Sunday afternoon to the building at 23 W. Main St. in Clinton, which houses several businesses, Clinton fire officials said.

The fire was raised to three alarms, and about 60 fire, EMS and police agencies responded, officials said.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries, and were treated and released from the an area hospital, officials told WCBS 880.

The fire department called said the blaze resulted in the tragic loss of a historic building. The cause was not known late Sunday.
