Man Found Dead In Basement Of Centereach Home After Fire
CENTEREACH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was found dead Wednesday afternoon after crews put out a fire in Centereach, Long Island.
Neighbors called 911 when they heard an explosion and flames at 30 Minerva Lane around 2:40 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
When police and firefighters arrived, Timothy Oskey, 50, was found unresponsive lying on the floor of the basement, police said.
Oskey was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The cause of the fire was not available late Wednesday.
