CBS2 Sources: No Charges Expected After Man Leaves Incoherent Woman On Queens Sidewalk

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man seen on surveillance video dragging and dumping an incoherent woman on a Queens street has not been arrested and will not be charged, sources told CBS2.

In the video, which was released Tuesday, the man can be seen dragging 18-year-old Safiya McLean from a dark-colored SUV parked on the side of the road. The video shows the man prop the woman up against the wall of a building then turn back, get in the SUV and drive off.

The man in the video knows McLean and was acting in her best interest when he placed her on the street, sources said. According to the unidentified man, he called 911 and waited for EMS to arrive.

EMS picked up McLean at the corner of 131st Street and Jamaica Avenue in Richmond Hill around 12:50 a.m. Saturday and took her to Jamaica Hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

She had bruising and leg injuries, police said.
