Police: Man Robs Customers After They Withdraw Money At Bronx ATMs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a robbery suspect who targets customers after they take money out of ATMs in the Bronx.

The suspect is wanted in connection with three incidents that occurred last month in the Fordham section.

On May 18, police said the suspect waited for a 59-year-old man to take out money from the ATM at a Bank of America on Fordham Road. Then he placed his hand in his jacket, pretended to have a gun and demanded the victim hand over the cash, police said. The victim refused and the suspect ran off empty-handed.

On May 26, the suspect pointed a gun at another 59-year-old man and took off with $530 in cash that the victim got from a machine at a Citibank on Creston Avenue, police said.

The next day, the suspect struck again at a Chase bank on Kingsbrige Road. This time he pointed a gun and demanded money from a 45-year-old man, police said. When the victim handed over $60, the suspect forced him to withdraw $200 from the ATM.

The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic man, 25 to 30 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, black baseball cap with green brim and carrying a black backpack.
