A global outage cancelled all flights from London's Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

British Airways issued an apology to customers and said it's working to fix the problem.

Later Saturday night, the airline posted a statement on its Facebook page, saying "Although some of the IT systems have returned, there will be some knock-on disruption to our schedules as aircraft and crews are out of position around the world."

The airline said it hopes to resume a "near normal" schedule at Gatwick, along with the majority of services at Heathrow, on Sunday. It also urged travelers not to come to the airports unless they have confirmed their bookings.
