Boomer & Carton: Jerry's Update Hits Its Mark

Jerry's Update

After digesting the morning headlines regarding Rex Ryan, Boomer paid high praise to one Ben Roethlisberger. This comes after the Steelers signal caller's record-breaking performance Sunday against the Colts, a performance Boomer is calling perhaps the greatest game a quarterback has ever played -- 40 for 49, 522 yards and six TDs in a 51-34 win does speak volumes.

From there Jerry Recco's update put the spotlight back on the Jets, after they got walloped by the Bills -- this despite Craig's pregame 'Blowing Off Some Steam For Gang Green' celebration, which was designed with the hopes reversing New York's fortunes.  Unfortunately that was not the case, as we heard from Rex, Geno and Michael Vick on the 43-23 loss.

Some news and notes from the rest of the NFL, including some entertaining play-by-play featuring Boomer's old Bengals buddy Dave Lapham, Brady and Big Ben's big days, Brandon Marshall's interesting media exchange and JJ Watt is apparently not a fan of taking 'selfies.'

Plus, the Giants took a 3-2 lead over the Royals in the World Series thanks to more Madison Bumgarner magic -- and some sad news, as Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras passes away in a car accident. He was just 22 years old.
