Jerry Recco found himself in a tough spot Thursday morning -- which is isn't unusual for the update maven, by the way -- as his job description requires him to update the relevant sports stories as he's sees fit, but poor Jerry also must navigate through the mine field that is the Boomer & Carton show while doing so.
Which brings us to this morning's update effort, which Jerry elected to set in motion by delivering the dreadful details from the Rangers' 6-5 OT loss to the Lightning in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals series.
Needless to say, Boomer the Rangers fan was not thrilled listening to the details, but hey the facts are the facts and right now, from Henrik Lundqvist right on down the line, the Blueshirts aren't playing very well. Game 4 will be Friday night in Tampa.
Plus, Jets new offensive coordinator Chan Gailey makes it clear that Geno Smith is the Jets starting quarterback - which doesn't sit very well with Craig, who thinks Gailey should be relieved of his duties for his comments - the Yankees fell to the Nats 3-2 and have now lost seven of their last nine, the Mets got spanked by the Cards 9-0 and are no longer a first-place baseball team, Craigie wasn't a big fan of Letterman's final Top 10 list, finally the Cavs got a huge contribution from J.R. Smith as they beat the Hawks in Atlanta to go up 1-0 in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference matchup...
