Regardless if you root for the Giants, Yankees or Mets, Jerry Recco's update was sure to bring a smile to your face after all three teams were victorious Thursday night.

So after Boomer & Craig were through discussing the papal's visit to New York and inquiring about buying tickets to see the Pope in person, Jerry got started with the Giants' 32-21 win over the Redskins. That provided Craig with an opportunity to morph into Tom Coughlin and elicit laughter.

Plus, the Yankees cut into the Blue Jays' lead in the AL East thanks to a 3-2 win over the White Sox in the Bronx.  Toronto's lead is now just three games.  The Mets were also winners in Cincinnati by a score of 6-4 over the Reds, and now have a magic number of only three.

Boomer grew a little sore with Jerry after the update maven failed to report on the return of Mats Zuccarello, who scored a goal for the Rangers in a preseason affair.  Jerry took the criticism in stride and just kept on truckin' along...
