B&C Morning Show: Wheeling & Dealing, Drunk Dialing And Antrel Rolle Make A Great Update
When constructing his first update, Jerry Recco put the Mets atop his list, so when he entered the Allstate Studio just before 6:30 a.m. that is right where he began.
We heard from Mets Special Assistant JP Ricciardi (courtesy of SNY) as he talked about checking things of their list and feeling good about the team's pitching rotation. The Mets acquired outfielder Andres Torres and relief pitcher Ramon Ramirez from the Giants in exchange for Angel Pagan and also signed relievers Frank Francisco (2-years, $12 million) and John Rauch (1-year, $3.5 million) to help bolster their bullpen.
According to the NY Post, the Yankees have put AJ Burnett on the trade market and are willing to pay $8 million of the remaining $33 million left on his contract - so far no takers. Meanwhile the Miami Marlins continue to make a splash as they prepare to introduce Jose Reyes later today and have reportedly made an offer the Albert Pujols in the neighborhood of 10 years and over $200 million.
As for the football, with the Giants preparing to take on the Cowboys in Week 14 of the NFL season, Antrel Rolle joined Joe & Evan yesterday on the Mid-Day Show and declared the Giants are playoff bound. Rolle also appears to have been made aware of his verbal crutch, because 'at the end of the day' the giants defensive back is very media savvy.
