B&C Morning Show: Vick Recants, Rex Responds, Yankees Play Out The String
After getting battered around by the Giants defense on Sunday, Michael Vick had some less-than-flattering comments directed toward NFL officials, regarding what he perceived to be disregard for his well-being. After taking a day to think it over, Vick backed off his remarks.
And it turns out his right hand is bruised, not broken as originally reported.
Keeping with the football theme, Jets legend Joe Namath is not all that happy with Rex Ryan these days, and I think it's safe to say the feeling is mutual. Namath went on record saying the Jets' outspoken head coach has inflated the Jets egos -- and he questioned their preparation.
Never at a loss for words, Rex snapped back and extended an invitation for 'Broadway Joe' to come to a Jets practice and see his team's preparation first-hand.
As for last night's game in Dallas, the Cowboys beat the Redskins 18-16 in a game that Boomer says Tony Romo had no business playing in. Considering Romo broke two ribs and punctured a lung last week against the 49ers, Boomer's concerns were certainly justified. Boomer talked about the dangers of numbing agents and the big difference between being injured and being hurt.
Setting football aside for a moment, Boomer & Craig turned their attention to baseball, specifically the AL East and the down to the wire AL wild card race between the Red Sox and the Rays. With the Yanks having already wrapped everything up, Craig posed the question of whether or not the Bombers should play their remaining two games against the Rays at full-tilt...
