B&C Morning Show: Tom Coughlin Bangs His Drum, Jerry Delivers His Update

When you have audio of a fired-up Tom Coughlin as he prepares his Giants team for a Divisional Round matchup against the Green Bay Packers, you put it to good use.

That's exactly what Jerry Recco did, beginning his first update of the show with the jacked-up Couglin addressing the assembled media.

From there Jerry stuck with the Giants, shifting the attention to Hakeem Nicks and his good vibrations when preparing to face the Packers' questionable secondary and Eli Manning talking about the Giants' mental preparations. Safety Kenny Phillips downplays the 38 points his unit yielded last time these two teams squared off in Week 13, while his teammate Deon Grant was blunt when saying they played like crap and were still right there.

Folks in Green Bay are still dealing with the tragedy surrounding offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, whose 21-year-old son died over the weekend in a drowning accident.  Aaron Rodgers talked about the tough week and what Mike McCarthy has done to help ease the pain.

Plus, the Redskins hire former Bucs head coach Raheem Morris as their defensive backs coach, Colts name Ryan Grigson as their GM, at the Garden the Knicks down the Sixers 85-79 - the Knikcerbockers 4th straight win.  We got to hear from Mike D'Antoni and Carmelo Anthony following the hard-fought six point victory.  The Nets 123-115 loss to the Nuggets in Denver has head coach Avery Johnson singing the blues, Kobe Bryant drops 40 in an 90-87 overtime victory over the Jazz, LeBron James fails tom come through in the clutch as the Heat fall to the Clippers 95-89 in OT, Syracuse improves to 18-0, the Devils outlast the Oilers in OT, the Rangers - winners of five straight and 10 of their last 11 - host the Senators tonight and the Yankees sign Don Mattingly's son Preston to a minor league deal...
