B&C Morning Show: Rex Getting Exactly What He Wants; Yankees Stink It Up
While opening up today's radio program, Boomer & Craig went through a bit of a rough patch, both having different ideas of what they should be talking about to get things started.
Craig believed the Yankees, losers of 12 of their last 18 games after last night's 6-5 setback to the Tigers, deserve top billing, as they saw their once-10-game advantage in the AL East (July 18) dwindle down to just 4.5 games. So with the Bombers now 'officially' in a pennant-race, Craig declared baseball 'is on.'
Boomer took it a step further and said 'baseball is back on', but then quickly shifted his focus to the Jets, who had another dust-up at training camp up in Cortland yesterday afternoon. Rex Ryan punished his team with wind sprints, but Boomer believes ole Rexy is getting exactly what he wants - and that is to toughen up his Gang Green.
Eventually the guys got back to the struggling Yankees, questioning why Curtis Granderson has been batting lead-off and pointing out that despite Eric Chavez solid play at 3rd, Alex Rodriguez is sorely missed in this Yankees' line-up. And even mentioned the defending Super Bowl Champion Giants, as Big Blue had a scuffle of their own.
So we had all of that and the Dynamic Radio Duo also mentioned the photo shoot they have scheduled following today's show with Mike Francesa and Craigie put on a very special shirt for the occasion (pictured below)...
