B&C Morning Show: Mitch Williams Picks The Perfect Day To Stop By
With the majority of today's show focused on what Craig hopes will become the Mets' new battle cry - 'FU Philly' - it seemed only fitting that former Phillies closer Mitch Williams (now an analyst on the MLB Network) was scheduled to stop by the Allstate Studio for a visit.
After explaining to Boomer & Craig that he wasn't miserable and is in fact always happy, Williams informed the guys that although he would not allow any of his five children to utter the phrase 'FU Philly,' he is raising all of them to be tough - which really comes as no surprise.
Williams talked about the surprising Mets, how they are playing beyond themselves and doing whatever it takes to win. Going as far as to compare this team to the 1993 Phillies team he was a part of that lost to the Blue Jays in the World Series.
Eventually Williams talked about his own instructional prowess on the Little League diamond, where he coaches his 8 year-old son. When Craig deduced that Williams' kid's athleticism must stem from their mother, Williams expressed a desire to wrestle Craig, but I think he would have settled for just a punch in the face...
