B&C Morning Show: Lin, Johan And More From Jerry Recco
Before Jerry Recco could get around to delivering his first update of the morning, Craig tried to come up with a reasonable explanation for the Knicks being mum until Saturday regarding the torn meniscus in Jeremy Lin's left knee.
He had little luck and summed things up by calling the Knicks' efforts to hide the Lin injury until after the deadline to purchase playoff tickets had passed a 'Deep Throat operation.'
Enter Jerry, who with his informative update, briefly shifted the focus to the baseball diamond. beginning with the Mets, who were happy to announce that Johan Santana will make the Opening Day start for the Mets this Thursday at Citi Field against the Braves. We got to hear from an excited Santana and Terry Collins, in addition to some play-by-play courtesy of Jim Duquette...or was it Josh Lewin? You decide.
Then there was Howie Rose, the other voice in the Mets booth. Craig was not too happy with him - and I'll just leave it at that.
As for the Yankees, their spring has been made more interesting by the voice of John Sterling, who was up to his tricks again yesterday when Francisco Cervelli stepped to the plate with the bases loaded. After the game, Alex Rodriguez spoke glowingly of the Miami Marlins' new ballpark and even tried to call out WFAN's own Sweeny Murti - which I don't believe went as planned.
Plus, Rangers lose 2-1 to the Bruins in Boston and Kentucky-Kansas tonight for the National Championship in New Orleans...
