B&C Morning Show: John Flaherty Can't Help But Worry About A.J. Burnett

YES Network analyst (their top analyst if you ask me) John Flaherty joined Boomer & Craig this morning and had some interesting things to say about the Yankees as they face elimination tonight in Detroit.

The first thing the guys asked Flaherty was about CC Sabathia getting squeezed last night and Joe Girardi's decision to go with Rafael Soriano for more than one inning last night, a move that back fired as Soriano let up the costly, game-deciding home run to Delmon Younng in the 7th inning of last night's 5-4 Bomber's loss.

Despite Soriano never being used to pitch in more than one inning the entire season, Flaherty defended Girardi's decision, referencing the fact that you pull out all the stops in the postseason.

From there Flaherty talked about how he likes the Yankees chances tonight against Rick Porcello although he can't help but be worried about A.J. Burnett on the mound because you can't possibly know what to expect.

As far as the struggling Alex Rodriguez, who is hitless (0-10 w/ 2 RBI's) in the series thus far, the man they call 'Flash' (there is a small group of people who refer to Flaherty in that way) says he knows how important he is to the Yankees' success and may be just one swing away from breaking out of his prolonged slump...
