B&C Morning Show: Jerry Rello Updates The Madness And Much More
Jerry "Rello" Recco gave us his first update of the morning, and it covered just about every topic conceivable.
Naturally, he started with the Jeremy Lin story that is dominating the back pages this morning. We hear Mike Woodson's old-school philosophy on rookies. Also, we get some insight into what the coaching change has done for the psyche of one Carmelo Anthony.
Also, Danny Granger took to Twitter to proclaim that the Pacers' next two games are very winnable. Those next two games happen to be a home-and-home set with the Knicks, so Amar'e Stoudemire had something to say about that.
Then Jerry gets into his NCAA Tournament recap. One of the more notable games was Syracuse's controversial win over 16-seed UNC-Asheville. The Orange trailed at halftime and were given all they could handle by the underdogs, but in the end some peculiar officiating helped ensure they would not become the first 1-seed to lose to a 16-seed in tournament history. Jerry also covers the player movement in both the NBA and NFL. The NBA Trade Deadline came and went with Dwight Howard staying in Orlando. Not only that, he also waived his opt-out clause, ensuring he will stay with the Magic next year as well. The Nets made a really strange move trading for Gerald Wallace. Craig voices his thoughts on that for a second before realizing that it's the Nets, and no one really cares.
In the NFL, the Bills signed pass rusher Mario Williams to a monster contract, prompting GM Buddy Nix to joke (as only he can) that the franchise may have to go out of business now. Also, the guys discuss Mark Sanchez's meeting with Santonio Holmes.
Jerry also gets us a recap of the night on ice. The Penguins got Sidney Crosby back as they went into the Garden and put a whupping on the Rangers 5-2. The Blueshirts' Eastern Conference lead may be slipping away before our very eyes.
