B&C Morning Show: Jerry Recco's All-Star Caliber Update
Jerry Recco's first update of the morning began with a play-by-play cut of the legendary Marv Albert, as he called the closing seconds of last night's NBA All-Star game, which was won by the West, 152-149. LeBron James scored 36 points for the East in the loss, but wilted under the pressure late in the game. Afterward 'King' James talked about his late turnover.
Kevin Durant also totaled 36 points and for his efforts was named MVP. Kobe Bryant had 27 and passed Michael Jordan as the All-Star game's all-time leading scorer. Carmelo Anthony was a starter in the East, finished with 19 points and had an interesting conversation with TNT's Craig Sager. The Knicks are back in action Wednesday night, when they will welcome the Cavaliers into the Garden.
Plus, in Port St. Lucie we get reports of another good day for Johan Santana which has Terry Collins excited. Collins also made a comparison between his shortstop Ruben Tejada and Yankees Captain Derek Jeter. Alex Rodriguez reminds Craig why he fell in love with him in the first place and Nick Swisher is looking forward to delivering numerous 'cream pies' throughout the season. NHL trade deadline today at 3 p.m. and it appears the Rangers will not look to acquire Rick Nash, Mario Manningham says that it's 75 percent that he will not be returning to the Giants next season and the Daytona 500 was postponed due to rain, rescheduled to be run today (weather permitting)...
