B&C Morning Show: Ivan Nova Is A Fun Name To Say; Antrel Rolle Speaks His Mind
Jerry Recco's first update of the day began with a recap of the Yankees' 5-0 win over the Rays last night at Yankee Stadium.
Boomer was very impressed by the performance of Ivan Nova, as the rookie right-hander battled through 7 2/3 innings to earn his 16th win. Boomer also really enjoys saying the name Ivan Nova, so he did so more than once and even asked Jerry and Eddie Scozzare to partake in the fun.
We also heard from Derek Jeter and Nick Swisher following the win. The Yanks have a doubleheader today against the Tampa Bay Rays, who are locked in a battle with the Red Sox for the AL Wild Card. The Rays trail Boston by 2 games, while the LA Angels are 3 1/2 back.
Speaking of those Red Sox, last night's starter Erik Bedard was served with child support papers (not divorce papers, as Craig originally stated) prior his start by a fella wearing a Yankees shirt. Predictably, Bedard lasted only 2 2/3 innings, allowing 4 runs (1 earned) in the Sox's 7-5 loss to Baltimore.
Giants safety Antrel Rolle joined Joe & Evan yesterday on the midday Show for his weekly spot and he had some interesting things to say about the Rams' complaints that the Giants were faking injuries during Monday night's game. Rolle said if his teammates were in fact faking injuries, it was a smart thing to do...
