B&C Morning Show: Hey Fred Wilpon, Man Up; Yankees' Late-Game Thrills
Fred Wilpon offered an apology to Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes on a conference call yesterday, this after his critical remarks created quite a firestorm.
Craig did not like that Wilpon said what he did in the first place, but he was even more upset that after saying it, Wilpon is now backing off. Craigie stated that he has lost a lot of respect for the elder Wilpon, wishing instead that he chose to stick to his guns and stand by his remarks.
On the field, the Mets resembled a comedy act as they lost to the Cubs 11-1 and on-top of everything else, Jason Bay took him self out of the game with a sore left calf. Bay's actions did not sit well with Boomer & Craigie.
As for the Yankees, all of the focus was on the field last night as the Bombers overcame a 3-run deficit to beat the Blue Jays 5-4 thanks to a game-winning hit courtesy of Mark Teixeira in the bottom of the 9th. It was an impressive win for the Yanks. The kind of win that, according to Boomer & Craig, could propel the Yankees for the rest of the summer...
