B&C Morning Show: Here We Go (Again); A Fulfilling Friday Open
Where to begin?
Boomer & Craig had a lot of ground to cover when opening this fulfilling Friday edition of the Morning Extravaganza. First and foremost we have the Rangers facing the prospects of elimination tonight, when they take the ice against the Devils at the Rock in Newark.
Adding to the buildup, today marks the anniversary of Mark Messier's guarantee in Game 6 against the Devils back in 1994. The Rangers captain of course backed up his bold guarantee by scoring a hat trick and leading his Blueshirts to a 4-2 win. John Tortorella is downplaying the comparisons, saying this run has nothing to do with the magic of '94.
Not to be ignored, Tim Tebow took the practice field for the Jets and lo and behold, the media was there to cover it like a glove. Boomer & Craig have both grown tired of the over-the-top Tebow coverage, which unfortunately has only just begun.
As for the Giants, they don't have a headline garnering backup QB on their roster, but made the news nonetheless after Hakeem Nicks broke the 5th metacarpal in his right foot and could be out up to three months. Clearly a blow to the defending Super Bowl champions before their defense has even begun.
All of that brings us to the fact that today is the day that we will find out who the nominees are for this year's coveted 'Pulse of the People Award' - which was won by our very own Boomer Esiason last year - after his radio partner took home the hardware the previous three years. Adding to the excitement, legendary news anchor Dan Rather is going to stop by to reveal who has been lucky enough to garner nomination. That's right, Dan 'Freakin' Rather will be in the Allstate Studio along with the Dynamic Radio Duo - now that's how you kick off a holiday weekend folks...
