B&C Morning Show: Heat Burn The Knicks, Braun's Big Break
Boomer and Craig kicked off Friday's extravaganza talking about the Knicks' humbling loss in Miami before moving on to discussing Ryan Braun having his 50-game suspension overturned by an arbitrator.
First, the guys broke down the Knicks' 102-88 loss to the surging Heat. Both Boomer and Craig seemed to see this result coming, but each of them took away their own perspectives from the defeat. Boomer notices that the "Jeremy Lin effect," as he calls it, not only improves the play of his teammates, it also gets the Knicks' opponents to step up their game in an effort to shut Linsanity down. Craig on the other hand believes that something has got to be wrong with Amar'e Stoudemire after attempting only 7 shots last night.
Then, the biggest sports story of the day is the ruling by an arbitrator to overturn the 50-game suspension of Ryan Braun for having elevated levels of testosterone in a urine sample he submitted to the league. The defense that won Braun his appeal doesn't actually disprove that Braun did not take any banned supplements, it only maintained that the proper testing protocol was not followed by those that conducted the test, rendering it inconclusive.
Both Boomer and Craig see this as a technicality, and not something that makes them believe any less that Braun did in fact take something that would be responsible for boosting testosterone levels. Craig says it will haunt Braun for the rest of his career.
