B&C Morning Show: Giants' Dream Win In Philly, Jets' Humbling Loss In Oakland
If you listened to the show on Friday (and I know you did), then you went through your Sunday with two certainties: the Giants simply could not win in Philadelphia and the Jets were going to go to Oakland and come home with a victory.
Fast forward to today, Monday morning, when we all come to the realization that there are no certainties in life. Or at least we question why we listened to Craigie in the first place.
But putting all of that aside for a moment, today was all about the Giants' statement win in Philly, 29-16 over the Eagles, and the Jets getting run over in the 'Black Hole' by Darren McFadden and the Raiders to the tune of 34-24.
Michael Vick started the game for Philly, but was eventually knocked out of the game with a broken right hand. While healthy, he was still deemed somewhat ineffective by an impressive Big Blue defense. The Giants' much-maligned offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride called a great game that led to 4 Eli Manning touchdown passes. Boomer called the win the Giants' biggest in the last two years and got a good laugh when he imagined what Tom Coughlin might say to Craig the naysayer this morning if the two crossed paths.
As for the Jets, they took their vaunted defense to Oakland and got steamrolled by a Raiders rushing attack that amassed 234 total yards, led by the man they call 'Run DMC' - Darren McFadden - and his 171 yards and 2 TD's.
So there are many questions surrounding both the Giants and the Jets, meanwhile up in Buffalo the Bills improved to 3-0 after a comeback win over the Patriots so you can add that to the mix on this action pack Football Monday edition of the Extravaganza...
