B&C Morning Show: Dickey's Knucklers Were Dancin'... Until The 8th
R.A. Dickey took the mound against the Pirates at Citi Field last night, despite suffering from a torn plantar fascia in his right foot, and for 7 innings looked as good as he has ever looked.
Dickey struck out 10 on the night and had the knuckle ball dancin' all over the place until the 8th inning, when the Pirates got to him for 3 runs. Craig was beside himself this morning, laying the fault for the loss at the feet of Terry Collins, who according to Craig sometimes forgets that he is actually managing the team. Craigie went on to lambaste Collins for leaving Dickey in the game for too long, an argument Boomer found to be all to predictable.
Speaking of predictable, Sports Illustrated released their anonymous players poll ranking the most overrated/underrated players in Major League Baseball, and lo and behold, Derek Jeter and his pal Alex Rodriguez were atop of the overrated list, which Craig finds to be laughable.
Back to the Mets for a moment, the "Not So Amazin's" have failed to hit a home run in their last 10 games , so that combined with the news that Lupus/Rocco/Nick is leaving the show to attend Fordham Law School, Craig hatched a brilliant idea of putting him in a glass box somewhere and leaving him in it until the Mets' homer-less streak is halted...
