B&C Morning Show: Daniel Murphy Checks In From Port St. Lucie
Boomer & Craig were happy to chat with Daniel Murphy, as the Mets' 2nd baseman called in from Port St. Lucie this morning to talk about the upcoming 2012 campaign.
Murphy - who was not wearing his 'Underdog T-shirt' which were given to the team courtesy of Jeff Wilpon - had a very optimistic outlook and talked about feeling good & fresh after his 2011 season was cut short by injury in early August. He also downplayed the stories that his teammate David Wright was not a fan of the t-shirts given to them by their owner.
As far as the new dimensions at Citi Field, Murphy said he believes the changes make the ball park play a little more fairly. He is confident in the Mets pitching staff, especially Mike Pelfrey. Murphy tagged the orally-fixated right-hander as his 'pick to click.'
As they were saying goodbye, Murphy laid down the gauntlet and issued a hitting challenge to Craig, this after Craigie poked fun at Murph's bowling skills, or lack thereof. Stay tuned...
