B&C Morning Show: Craig Predicts, Not 'Locks-Up,' A Mets Sweep

Before Jerry "Rello" Recco could even begin his first update of the morning, Craig went out a limb and predicted a Mets sweep this weekend over the Yankees.  Mind you he did not "lock it up," but he did offer the bold prediction. Do with it what you wish.  Boomer suspected it was an attempt by Craig to get back in the good graces of Mets fans after openly fawning over the Yankees the way he has.

Jerry paid the prediction little mind and went on to deliver another award-winning update, which he began with the golden voice of Yankees radio play-by-play man John Sterling gleefully calling Mark Teixeira's 300th career home run.  We also got to hear from CC Sabathia and Francisco Cervelli, who teamed up to baffle Brewers hitters all afternoon long.

We also heard from Mets skipper Terry Collins after his team lost to Justin Verlander -- who has a capped off a June for the ages (6-0, 0.92 ERA in his 6 starts) -- and the Detroit Tigers.  Craig said there is no shame in the Mets losing what he called an "un-winnable" game considering the kind of role the Tigers' ace has been on.  Conversely, Mets fans are concerned with the man many considered their ace at the start of the season.  Mike Pelfrey dropped to 4-7 after yet another shaky outing and the concern surrounding "Big-Pelf" is as high as it's ever been.

Then we got to the lockout portion of the update, which to-date has been when Jerry updated us on the NFL labor negotiations, which he did.  But at midnight the NBA locked out their players and now Jerry's lockout update will involve both leagues for the foreseeable future, which certainly does suck.

Craig also busted Boomer's chops a bit the upcoming NHL free-agency period, which begins today and has the Blonde Bomber's attention...
