B&C Morning Show: 'Big Pelf' In Big Trouble

What a difference a day makes.  Just one day after a dominating 7-1 win over the Fightin' Phils, improving to 3-1 and moving into 1st place in the NL East, the wheels fell off the Mets' "Mo-Mo Bus" when their "ace" took the mound.

Mike Pelfrey was terrible, allowing seven runs (six earned) in his 2+ inning of work and despite coming all the way back from seven runs down to tie the game, Mets reliever Blaine Boyer and his red beard gave it right back, yielding three runs (all earned) and the "Amazin's" (and their fans) were quickly brought back to reality.

Craig is clearly pushing the panic button, Boomer suspects partly because his wife Kim is a Philly girl and therefore last night's loss stings Cragie a little more, but either way  his mind was made up, Pelfrey stinks and a demotion to Buffalo (the Mets' Triple-A affiliate) would do the orally fixated pitcher some good.

Boomer too is concerned about "Big-Pelf," saying he appears to be on the verge on coming unglued.  Things don't get much better for the Mets as Roy Halladay and his Cy Young Award will be pitching today for the Phillies in the rubber game.

The Knicks also had a game in Philly last night and hung on to beat the Sixers (after blowing all of a 19 point lead) and slide into the 6th spot in the East.  Carmelo Anthony once again came up big, but now the question for Mike D'Antoni becomes one of playing time for his stars as the playoffs approach.

Finally, Craig informed Dominique, the guys' make-up artist,  that she will be evaluated in the coming weeks and they would like her to fill out a self-evaluation form...
