B&C Morning Show: Al's Solo Afternoon Matinee Experience, Jerry's Morning Update
During his time off, Al Dukes decided to take in a movie. He went to see the summer blockbuster, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" -- alone.
Now, personally, I see nothing wrong with this - I went to see "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" by myself. But based on Al being Al, Craig poked fun at the 41-year-old bachelor while the producer tried to defend himself.
Then Craig admitted that he does not like doing things alone, whether it's going to see a movie or having a meal. Al on the other hand is single, and therefore tends to do a whole lot of things all by himself -- and I'll just leave it at that.
With that out of the way, Jerry Recco got us updated on the Mets' comeback win over the San Diego Padres last night, among other things.
Howie Rose had the call of Lucas Duda's game-winning, two-run single and we got to hear it. Having lost interest in the Mets a while back, Craig attempted to take the air out of Mike Baxter's balloon. The 26-year-old Mets rookie is from Queens, by the way.
Baxter had a pinch hit, run scoring double in the 8th inning (the second hit of his young career) but according to Craig it should have been ruled an error because the ball hit the glove of left fielder Kyle Blanks. Craig also deduced Padres closer Heath Bell seems like a jerk, before moving on to A.J. Burnett's start tonight in the Bronx.
From there we heard about the Jets, which suddenly have Craig all kinds of worried, and the Giants, who according to Carton, are just a mess. And not to be left out, Tiger Woods' former caddie Steve Williams took a few shows at his former boss...
