B&C Blog & Show Audio: Facing The Music

Bobby Dwyer

The Mets finished the 2010 season with 79 wins compared to 83 losses and for the fourth straight season failed to qualify for the postseason.  With that said, to no one's surprise the organization said goodbye to both Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya yesterday and now a new era begins in Mets land.  Omar Minaya said all the right things and as far as Jerry Manuel, Craig is really upset that he will no longer be able to do his dead-on impression of the Mets former Manager.  The Mets COO Jeff Wilpon joined the guys in the 8 o'clock hour to address the state of his team.  The Yankees didn't let the Mets steal all the headlines, the Bombers will apparently be going with a three-man rotation in the ALDS against the Twins, which means AJ Burnett will not be getting the ball.  Speaking of the Yanks, Boomer recalled a few wagers he and Craig made throughout the season and this morning it was time to collect…

The 8 o'clock hour was all about the Mets, as the man who is in charge stopped by and paid Boomer & Craig a visit.  Jeff Wilpon faced the music, literally and figuratively.  The guys grilled the Mets COO on just about everything you could think of.  Bottom line is the man wants more wins and he vowed to get the 'family business' back on track.  He even laughed his way through Al's 7 minute song, which I have to admit, was very entertaining… throughout…

From the Mets Boss to the Baltimore Orioles Adam Jones, the guys kept the baseball theme going chatting it up with the O's centerfielder about the 2010 postseason.  Jones is working with TBS for the playoffs and playing in the AL East, he has a pretty good handle on what both the Yankees and the Rays bring to the table…
