Air Force Flyover Planned Past Statue of Liberty
NEW YORK (CBS2 /AP) -- The NYPD says flyovers will be conducted past the Statue of Liberty.
It says the Brazilian Air Force "Smoke Squadron" will fly nine turboprop airplanes on Thursday as part of a photo opportunity.
They will make two passes past the statue at 10 a.m. before flying to Portsmouth, N.H.
The planes are painted in the colors of the Brazilian flag: bright green and yellow. There will be no armament of any kind on any of the aircraft.
