NYPD: 82-Year-Old Woman Scammed Out Of $10,000 In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three people promised to help an 82-year-old woman find an apartment, but instead ended up stealing thousands of dollars from her, police said.
The suspects -- two women and a man -- drove the elderly victim to an HSBC bank on Park Place in Brooklyn last October.
The victim withdrew $10,000 and gave the money to one of the suspects, who police released a surveillance photo of on Tuesday.
Instead of helping the woman as the promised, police said the suspect took off with the victim's money.
